In the cruel north of Pakistan, Skardu, the burning valley
of Gilgit-Baltistan, is an encapsulation of excellence, tranquility and
wilderness. Ways to climb part of the world's most exalted mountains with K2,
K3 and Gasherbrum; they are all connected by this valley. These towering
mountains attract a large number of climbers from all over the world every
year; some have even lost their lives in attempts to reach these exalted
ascensions. After Jaglot on the Karakoram Highway, a limited street turns
towards Skardu. During the seven-hour journey one is welcomed with a few
streams, springs and the friendliness of the nearby individuals. Not long after
crossing the old wooden jetty that worked across the Indus River, one reaches
Shangrila. Higher up is Kachhura Village,
where the perfectly clear water of Kachhura Lake is
surrounded by old sensational trees. Watching the sun rise behind the mountains
is a fascinating sight. The Indus River changes during different seasons;
turquoise waters on the shores during the winter and different shades of dim
during the summers. According to Tibetan myths, the Indus spouts from the mouth
of a lion, which is why it is otherwise called "Sher Darya" (Lion
River). At that time there is Kharpocho Fort on the slopes, this development is
600 years old. It was edited by Balti ruler Ali Sher Khan Anchan. The
breathless view of the valley from the fort on a full moon night is a difficult
view to miss.
The sand hills in the city of Katpana, also called cold
traitors, think in themselves. Strong winds move the ridges as fast as
travelers. This leave has a remarkable fascination at this height and icy
neighborhood. In the mountains, the sun sets faster in the plain, and the
glimmer stays for a few minutes. The interval between dusk and before sunset is
a test that cannot be expressed in words to someone who has not been an
observer of it.
